; The confluence of Velino River into Nera River creates the Marmore waterfall. The last one represent a very amazing element in the Umbria region. Since its features the fall has an important morphological role, because of particular fluvial and karstic morphotypes and it represents a great value in environmental, cultural and tourist fields. Human factors trigger the fall development since the Roman age. In the past the Marmore fall was also a reason for hydrological and political disagreement. Nowadays the fall is an example of «morphogenetic process in progress» very significant for scientific and tourist interests. The Marmore fall is easily classified as geomorphosite: landforms, with a high scientific or cultural value.
